Research Interests

Judit Gébert is a research fellow at the Institute of Sociology of the Centre for Social Sciences Research. She earned her PhD in economics from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at the University of Szeged in 2015. Other degrees include an MA in Philosophy (University of Szeged) and an MA in Political Science (Central European University). Her main area of research focuses on issues related to environmental justice and the distribution of resources. She has worked on various projects addressing the sustainability and well-being aspects of local development, as well as issues of social inclusion. In her research, she frequently employs qualitative and participatory methods. She is a frequent speaker at conferences organized by the European Society of Ecological Economics and the Hungarian Regional Science Association. Her book, Hogyan lehetséges ökológiai közgazdaságtan? (How Is Ecological Economics Possible?), was published in 2024 by Akadémiai Kiadó. She is the program director of the Master’s Program in Human Ecology at ELTE TáTK and one of the hosts of the Zöld Egyenlőség (Green Equality) podcast.
